LIMITED-CONNECTIVITY ESTIMATING

Offline construction estimating for limited-connectivity work

After verifying your subscription, the downloaded Rivet apps keep plan editing available through your paid-through date plus a seven-day grace period. Work with local projects and create exports or portable backups when Cloud access is unavailable.

THE WORKFLOW

A clear path from source drawing to reviewed work.

Each step keeps the project understandable to the estimator who created it and the person who reviews it next.

  1. 01

    Verify before leaving

Sign in, confirm the subscription on the device, open the required local project, and make a portable backup while a connection is available.

  2. 02

    Work from the local copy

Use the downloaded app and locally saved project through the verified access period. Keep the device clock accurate and confirm that you have the correct project revision.

  3. 03

    Know what needs a connection

Cloud sync, invitations, account changes, and subscription checks require internet access. Complete these steps before leaving coverage.

  4. 04

    Reconnect and review

Restore connectivity, verify access and revision state, then review the project before uploading or replacing any workspace.

PREPARE FIRST

Prepare your project before leaving coverage

Prepare for poor connectivity while you still have internet access. Confirm the drawing set is current, the project is saved locally, your subscription has been verified, and you have a recent portable backup.

On Windows, reconnect to the internet after restarting the computer and before resuming plan edits. This lets Rivet verify access before you return to work offline.

  • Open the required project while connected
  • Confirm the current drawing revision
  • Create a portable backup
  • Tell the field user which actions require Cloud
KNOWN ACCESS WINDOW

Understand the paid-through date and grace period

After a downloaded app verifies your subscription, plan editing remains available through the paid-through date plus a seven-day grace period. Reconnect periodically to verify renewal and maintain editing access.

If renewal still cannot be checked after grace ends, existing work remains available to read, export, and back up. Reconnect to restore subscribed plan editing.

SAFE RECONNECTION

Review before the next Cloud revision

When the device reconnects, confirm both access and project revision state. Rivet will not silently upload an older workspace over newer Cloud work, but the estimator still needs to review who changed the project and which drawing issue is approved.

Keep local and portable copies until the returned work has been reviewed. A successful sync is not a substitute for checking quantity, cost, and scope changes.

BEFORE YOU CHOOSE

Your questions answered

Can Rivet Estimator work without internet?

After verifying your subscription, a downloaded Rivet app can keep plan editing available through the paid-through date plus a seven-day grace period. Cloud and account actions still require a connection.

What happens after the offline grace period?

Existing work remains available to read, export, and back up. Reconnect to verify renewal and restore plan editing.

Do I need to prepare a project before leaving coverage?

Yes. Verify the subscription, open the current local project, confirm its drawing issue, and create a portable backup before relying on a low-connectivity workflow.

Will my offline changes automatically replace the Cloud version when I reconnect?

No. Rivet blocks an older workspace from silently overwriting newer Cloud work. Review the local and Cloud revisions, then agree which version to use before syncing.
