A Windows and Android construction estimating workflow
Assign a clear role to each device, confirm the current project version, prepare for weak connectivity, and review field changes before uploading the next Cloud revision.
Assign a job to each device
Decide where the main estimate will be prepared and which tasks the Android device will handle, such as field reference, measurement, or review. Check that the required tools are available on each platform.
Agree who is responsible for the estimate and who can release the next revision.
- Primary estimating device
- Field-device purpose
- Named project owner
- Review and release responsibility

Start with one stable project identity
Use a consistent project name or identifier, the approved drawing issue, a scope owner, and a dated baseline. Confirm the receiving device is connected to the intended workspace.
Each named Rivet member can connect up to two devices. Account sharing is not a substitute for adding the right named member to a team workflow.

Prepare before leaving reliable coverage
Verify the subscription, open the required local project, confirm its plan issue, and create a portable backup. Explain which actions require Cloud or account access.
Downloaded-app access continues through the paid-through date and a seven-day grace period after verification. Cloud sync and account changes require connectivity.
- Access verified
- Project opened locally
- Drawing revision confirmed
- Portable backup created
- Connection-dependent actions understood

Include the details the next person needs
Send the source sheet, revision, measured scope, notes, assumptions, and unresolved RFIs. Explain what the receiving person should check or change.
Agree who will edit the project. Rivet Cloud does not support simultaneous live co-authoring.
Reconnect, reconcile, and approve
When the device reconnects, check the current Cloud revision before uploading or replacing work. Rivet will not silently overwrite newer Cloud work and keeps a recovery copy before local replacement.
Review field changes, affected quantities, costs, and the approved drawing issue. Preserve both copies until the responsible estimator accepts the new baseline.
- Revision state checked
- Returned changes reviewed
- Conflicts assigned
- Estimate variance checked
- New baseline approved
Frequently asked questions
Do Windows and Android need identical features?
No. Assign tasks that each platform supports, agree who will edit the estimate, and confirm the drawing revision before starting.
How many devices can one Rivet member connect?
Each named member can connect up to two devices to the shared Rivet Cloud workspace.
How do we prevent one device from using an old revision?
Use a controlled drawing register, confirm the approved issue during handoff, and check the Cloud revision before work continues.
